So I'm very near to the end of my creative writing course. And now I have six weeks to prepare my final major project. I have to write 4000 words of a theme of my choice.
Ideas were dotted onto my page thick and fast, but I finally decided on writing something along the lines of Roald Dahl style. I love the thought that anything is possible, all you have to do is have an imagination. This was inspired by watching the recent documentary by David Walliams, who looked into Roald's life and writing.

My idea is for a young boy, say age nine, is to be on a day out in London. He gets separated from his parents and gets swept into Madame Tussauds with a crowd of people.
Strange things happen. Wax works come to life........

If anyone has any comments, thoughts or ideas of where to look to make this story really really great, i would be eternally grateful. xxx

Yesterday I received my mark for my Children's book assignment,  i got a DISTINCTION!!!! So very happy, as I really enjoyed the whole project, despite at the beginning thinking that I would be rubbish!
One of the stories 'Tots got talent',  is on my website already. The other two, 'Aliens love school', and 'Nitty Nora the head explorer' will be sent off to either a competition or to try and publish, as my heart and soul went into writing them!
Only two more months of college to go now. Just my Journalism project to hand in next week, then my final project with a deadline of June. It seems that now I'm finding my feet and getting excellent grades, the course is coming to an end!

Today I've been busy on my latest college project, which is the second from last before I leave in July. (mixed thoughts on that!)
The theme is journalism, and I decided to interview (via email) the lovely Caroline Smailes whose latest ebook 99 reasons why I have reviewed on this website. Caroline very kindly took time out from her busy schedule to answer my questions and now I'm in the process of writing an article, as if I were publishing it for an appropriate magazine.
I'm really enjoying this project and want to do it justice, and it's made a nice change to write about facts, rather than just what's going on in my head.

On Tuesday we welcomed a gorgeous little cavalier King Charles Spaniel to our home. Her name is Sherrie, she is almost 2 years old and we love her to bits! She loves nothing more than to go for long walks followed by long snoozes on the sofa.

We all need reminding sometimes that we should appreciate what we have in life, in stead of obsessing over what we don’t have.

If you follow me on twitter you will have seen my KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON WRITING photo. To go with my keen interest in British history, I found this video and just had to share.
