Just a quick blog as I'm out doing Mummy things, (food shopping and school run!) but I just had to tell you about my morning!

My journey into college was a little nerve wracking I will admit, as I was about to learn my final three grades for my Access to Creative Writing course. I'd spent the last six weeks slogging away like a coal man down the pit, but had I done enough?

Apparently so! I received not one, not two but THREE distinctions! Am extremely proud of myself, especially as I have had things going on in my personal life too.

So! Onwards and upwards! I shall be spending the summer reading (lots!) learning to play my guitar, and hopefully working on a brand new blog with a college friend. Then in September, I shall embark on a Creative Writing degree with the Open college of the Arts. Eek!

Woohoo! Today I received my 3rd distinction in a row (my 4th on the course) and I'm absolutely made up.
For this project I had to interview an author of my choice, and I decided on the very fabulous Caroline Smailes, whose book 99 reasons why I had just finished reading.
Along with those questions, i prepared a book review and critically compared the writing styles of three completely different magazines.
Job done! Am very pleased! Now just this Final Major Project to do by 11th June. Hmmm cuppa tea first I think!

Yesterday I received my mark for my Children's book assignment,  i got a DISTINCTION!!!! So very happy, as I really enjoyed the whole project, despite at the beginning thinking that I would be rubbish!
One of the stories 'Tots got talent',  is on my website already. The other two, 'Aliens love school', and 'Nitty Nora the head explorer' will be sent off to either a competition or to try and publish, as my heart and soul went into writing them!
Only two more months of college to go now. Just my Journalism project to hand in next week, then my final project with a deadline of June. It seems that now I'm finding my feet and getting excellent grades, the course is coming to an end!
